The Peninsula Eagle I Bar code Scanner is all these things and more.

The Eagle I is ideal for retail, library, database, industrial and other applications.

The Eagle I supports all major code types in use today including codes such as EAN, UPC, Code 39, Code 128 and ITF.

Manufactured to the highest standards specifically for us, the build quality of these scanners is as good as scanners costing twice the price. They are light and ergonomic and look good.

The Eagle I is backed by our 15 years of experience in barcoding, making them both user friendly and accurate. They work straight from the box and have inbuilt safety checks to make sure each bar code is scanned correctly.

Each code is scanned in microseconds and typed straight into your application as ASCII text. There is no need for additional software as everything is built into the body of the scanner.

The scanner pretends it is an additional keyboard so anything you can type into can accept bar codes. The PS2 scanners come with a Y cable so you can still plug in your keyboard and use it at the same time.

All our bar code scanners are ready set up when they leave us, all you do is simply plug in the cables provided and start scanning, no software setup is required.

The Eagle I is fully programmable so if you need to change any settings a book of bar codes is provided. Settings include things such as the character to be sent at the end or beginning of the code, or the buzzer tone.

More advanced options are also available such as setting the scanner to hands free mode or triggerless mode.

Simply scan the codes in the book to set the options and other settings. A simple "Set All Defaults" bar code is included, should you need to start again!

The Eagle I comes with all the necessary cabling and has the decoder built into the handheld unit. (No extra boxes required).

All our scanners have been extensively tested over long periods for reliability and all come with a 1 year RTB guarantee as standard. All scanners are tested again before shipping to ensure that everything works when you get it.

The Eagle I USB is designed for use with Mac (OS 8.5-9.2 and Mac OSX), PC (Windows, Linux and DOS) or other systems' USB ports.

The Eagle I can also be used with Mac/PC USB, PC PS2 or PCAT ports (with PS2 and PCAT you can even still plug in your keyboard thanks to the Y cable attached to the scanner.
